From outdoor adventures to character building, now is the time to invite new families to experience all that Scouting has to offer. Our Sign Up for Scouting plan blends traditional and new campaign strategies that will help your pack welcome new members all while showcasing the adventure of Scouting.
2024 Membership Incentives
For Packs:
Incentive:
The council fee will be waived for new youth registering from August 1st to October 15th ($80 savings for the first year).
Criteria to Qualify:
Group 1 (Complete ALL of the following)
- Attend Kickoff Training at August Roundtable
- Schedule a primary kickoff to be held in September. (Date submitted by 9/1/24)
- Sign In Sheets Submitted within 48 hours.
- Share a copy of your pack’s calendar (at least until the end of 2024) with new families and submit a copy with your sign in sheet
Group 2 (Complete ONE of the following, using council provided materials)
- At least one week before your fall recruitment date, place at least three (3) yard signs promoting your sign-up night. Share locations of signs with your council representative.
- Have at least 50% of current members participate in peer-to-peer card distribution, at least one week before your recruitment night.
Group 3 (Complete ONE of the following)
- Participate in community event to “show off” your unit and recruit new members (month of September)
- Use social media to either place an ad or have pack families share recruitment info with non-scouting families.
- Place an ad in your local town paper (physical or online) advertising
your registration event.
• Families may register by using paper applications or online. Online registration will require a unique discount code, provided by the Pine Tree Council.
For Troops:
Incentive:
The council fee will be waived for new youth registering from
August 1st to October 15th ($80 savings for the first year). Youth must be at least 2 years removed from Scouting.
Criteria to Qualify:
Group 1(Complete ALL of the following)
- Troop agrees to attend summer camp 2025 at Camp Hinds
- Schedule a recruitment night to be held in September.
- Sign In Sheets Submitted within 48 hours.
- Share a copy of your Troop’s calendar (at least until the end of 2024) with new families and submit a copy with your sign in sheet.
Group 2 (Complete ONE of the following, using council provided materials)
- At least one week before your fall recruitment date, place at least three (3) yard signs promoting your sign-up night. Share locations of signs with your council representative.

For Adult Leaders:
Incentive:
The council fee will be waived for new adults registering from August 1st to October 15th ($60 savings for the first year). In addition, all leaders must take leader specific training within one month of registration.
