| TE - Trainer's EDGE
Leadership training is a major part of Scouting, and this new training
session will teach trainers how to conduct an effective training session.
The course will include an opportunity to prepare and conduct presentations
and demonstrate skills. This course will be especially useful for those
serving on the training staffs of Wood Badge and leader-specific training
courses.
Who should come?
-
Youth Trainers for JLTC, Venturing, Roundtable, Order of the Arrow, and
Summer Camp
-
District Trainers in Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, Venturing
-
Council Trainers for Wood Badge, JLTC, Youth Protection and all the other
trainings.
-
Commissioners--Unit, District, Assistant District, and Roundtable
-
Any Scout Leader who wants to learn to communicate ideas better!
The Trainer’s EDGE replaces the Trainer Development Conference (BSA
500) as the required train-the-trainer course for Wood Badge and NYLT staffs.
It is meant to supplement the practice offered through Wood Badge and NYLT
staff development, with a focus on the participant, while raising the level
of skill a trainer brings to the staff experience.
Only practice can polish these skills, but this course is intended to
“train the trainer” on behaviors and resources while offering hands-on
experience in methods and media. |
