CSLS - Cub Scout Leader Specific Training

The purpose of Scouting is to teach values and ethical behavior using a program of fun and learning which is interesting, exciting, and engaging for our youth members. This course does just that. If you are a Cubmaster, Assistant Cubmaster, Pack Committee member, Tiger Cub Leader, Cub Scout Den Leader or Assistant, or a Webelos Den Leader or Assistant -- you need to take this course to help be the best leader you can be and to get vital information about your individual Pack position.  You will learn about Pack organization, advancement, Den and Pack program planning, transition from Webelos to Boy Scouting and the purpose of the uniform and where everything goes on it. Not to mention lots of fun and fellowship.

Cub Scout Leader Specific training has been developed for the following positions and their assistants:
  • Tiger Cub den Leaders 
  • Cub Scout den leaders
  • Webelos den leaders
  • Cubmasters and assistants
  • Pack committee members
  • Pack Trainer

 

Course Summary

 
Tiger Leader Specific Training

Covers the role of the Tiger Cub leader, purposes of the Tiger program, what a Tiger den leader does, how to plan and conduct a den meeting and "Go See It" activity, Tiger advancement, Tiger Cub behavior issues, and how to have fun with Tiger Cubs. Open to all Tiger Cub leaders and parents, not just to get trained.

Cub Scout Leader Specific Training (Wolf & Bear Leaders)

The latest information and resources on what it takes to be a Wolf or Bear Cub Scout den leader. Presents the purposes of the Cub Scout program, what a Wolf/Bear Cub Scout leader does, how to plan and conduct a Wolf/Bear den meeting, Wolf/ Bear advancement, Wolf/Bear Cub Scout behavior issues, and how to have fun with Wolf/Bear Cub Scouts. Open to all Wolf/Bear leaders, not just to get trained.

Webelos Leader Specific Training

Learn about your role in the Webelos den and how that affects the lives of boys. Includes purposes of the Webelos program, what a Webelos den leader does, how to plan and conduct a Webelos den meeting, Webelos advancement, Webelos behavior issues, preparing Webelos for crossing over, and how to have fun with Webelos. Open to all Webelos leaders, not just to get trained.

Cubmaster Leader Specific Training

Learn about your role in the pack as a Cubmaster, Assistant Cubmaster or prospective Cubmaster. This session shows what it takes to be a Cubmaster, including roles of the Cubmaster and assistant Cubmaster, the Cub Scout advancement program, the importance of pack program planning, planning a pack meeting, the Cubmaster Award, and how to succeed as a Cubmaster. Open to all CMs & ACMs, not just to get trained.

Cub Scout Committee

This session shows what it takes to be a member of a Cub Scout pack committee. Objectives include defining the role of the pack committee, makeup and functions on the pack committee, people who support the pack committee, the pack planning process, how packs are funded, and where packs can get help. Open to all Pack Committee members, not just to get trained.

Pack Trainer Training

Pack Trainers are a vital part of your Unit’s growth! You will learn the specific duties of a Pack Trainer and how to earn the Pack Trainer Award. Learn how the Pack Trainer helps the Pack, their role within the Unit, the required training and supplemental training available to unit leaders, and receive information on resources to help you successfully perform your responsibilities.
