WHAT IS WINTER CAMP




"I’m bored!  There’s nothing to do!"  Sound familiar?  Check out Pine Tree Council’s Winter Camp. 

During the deep snows of  February school vacation, 30 lucky Boy Scouts will be able to stay warm and cozy at the Rotary Training Center at Camp Hinds.  Pine Tree Council will be hosting Winter Camp 2012 February 19th – 24th. 

Winter Camp is a weeklong resident camp program designed for Scouts 13 years and older and at least First Class Rank.  Scouts age 12 and at least First Class Rank may register after January 15th if space is still available.  Scouts can earn merit badges, participate in outdoor winter skills, meet new friends and have fun!  Planned activities include a Rattlesnake Mountain hike, building and sleeping in qunizees (snow shelters), along with snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and other outdoor activities.

2012 Winter Camp merit badges are: American Business, American Heritage, Chess, Citizenship in the Community, Citizenship in the World, Collections, Grahic Arts, Home Repairs, Journalism, Law, Metalwork, Plumbing, Public Speaking, Robotics, and Snow Sports MB.

Cost for Winter Camp is $260.00 per person.  Enrollment is limited to the first 30 Scouts who sign –up.  Contact the Pine Tree Council Camping Department at 797-5252 x 14 to sign up!  Mark your calendars for Winter Camp!  What a great way to spend school vacation!
